01 Dic Mexican Authorities Confiscate Tulum Boutique Hotel From U.S. Investors
Military Style Raid Evicts 18 US Citizens From Their Hotel Rooms in Tulum
Washington DC—December 1, 2021—Possession of Tulum Hotel El Pez was seized by force on October 1, in a post midnight raid by unidentified, heavily armed para-militaries, who were masked, showed no identification, and who forcibly removed guests and staff onto the streets of Tulum at gunpoint. They were later identified not as criminal gang members, but incredibly they were elite State police operativies working within the State controlled FGE organisation. This was a government sanctioned raid on a private hotel in Tulum.
The owner of Hotel El Pez, Doctor John Kendall, a US citizen, has requested that the FGE police explain the reason that possession was seized and why possession of the property has still not been returned after 60 days. Kendall says “While commercial disputes involving title ownership are common in Tulum, this situation is extremely unusual because there is no title dispute in the courts, and because a highly trained elite police force controlled by the State was used to take possession by force at 3 am to forcibly evict US citizen guests and our staff who were terrified and completely uncalled for. We expect the legal system will support our requests for possession to be returned to us shortly, as this event cannot withstand the legal scrutiny that it will be subjected to by the Federal Court system, which over many years we have found to be of high integrity and incorruptible.”
The US investors have been informed that while the hotel has been guarded by the authorities, the property has been looted including the removal of two ATVs, furniture, and small ware. The investors and rightful owners demand the hotel is return without damage and without having been the object of theft and looting.
Kendall has retained a Washington based lobbying firm to take this case to the US Congress, the Biden Administration and federal agencies. A spokesman for the Washington DC base lobbying firm stated “Our efforts fall squarely with the anti-corruption efforts of the Biden Administration and are in keeping with the Global Magnistky Act that sanctions politicians and businessmen who violate human rights and commit acts of corruption. We will expedite an investigation of the facts that surround this situation, and we will then take our findings to key US Government resources for support. We believe that Mexico and the USA have forged strong bilateral bonds of integrity and neither government wants their reputation tainted through the actions of a few rogue elements that skirt the law. We will also be reaching out to certain senior officials in the Mexican State and Federal Governments to seek their support over the next week.”
